Our terms, in plain English.
These are the terms of every SoakSpeed hire. We have written them the way we would say them. If anything is unclear, ask before you book: hello@soakspeed.co.uk.
The agreement
The hire is between you (the person booking, who must be 18 or over) and SoakSpeed. The equipment stays ours; you are hiring the use of it for the agreed dates. Delivery day is day one of the hire and collection day is the last.
Booking and payment
An availability request costs nothing. Once we confirm your dates, a £50 booking deposit secures them and the balance is due seven days before delivery. Long-term hires (three months or more) are billed monthly in advance. There is no damage deposit.
Cancelling and moving dates
Cancel more than 14 days before delivery and we refund the deposit in full. Inside 14 days the deposit is kept, but you can move your dates once for free. Long-term hires can end any time after the third month with 14 days notice. Weather is not a reason to cancel: the tub is 38°C whatever the sky is doing.
Peak weeks
Each 7-night hire week that overlaps 20 December to 3 January carries a £100 supplement on hot tub and bundle hires. Cold plunge prices do not change. Bank holiday weeks are standard price.
Your site
You need a standard 13-amp socket with an RCD within 15 metres, a flat, hard, level base about 2.5 metres square that can take 1.6 tonnes (2 by 1.5 metres for the cold plunge), a clear path at least 80 cm wide from where the van can park, and a tap with a hose. If we arrive and the site does not match what you told us and we cannot safely set up, we may have to treat it as a cancellation inside 14 days.
Delivery, water and power
Both tubs travel empty. We fill from your hose on delivery day (about 900 litres for the hot tub, roughly £3 on a water meter) and the tub reaches temperature within 24 hours: 12 to 24 hours for the hot tub, up to 24 hours for the cold plunge. Electricity is yours: about £2 a day for the hot tub and under 50p a day for the plunge at the October 2026 price cap. Keep the tub plugged in and the cover on when not in use.
Looking after it
We hand over with the water dosed and show you the two-minute daily routine: dip a test strip, add the measured dose if it reads low. On monthly and long-term hires we visit every four weeks to drain, clean and refill. Do not move the tub, empty it, or let anyone service it except us.
Damage
Normal wear is on us. Damage beyond normal wear is on you, unless you take the £19 damage waiver, which caps your liability at £250. Tell us straight away if something breaks; most problems are quick fixes if we hear early.
Safety
Children only use the hot tub with an adult in the water, set to 35°C, and we recommend no under-fives. Never use either tub alone after drinking heavily or with sedating medication. Anyone pregnant or with a heart, blood pressure or circulation condition should check with their GP first. Cold water shock is real: start at 10 to 12°C for one to three minutes and never plunge alone. Follow the safety guidance we leave at handover.
Our responsibilities
We maintain, inspect and test the equipment, including the leads and plugs, before every hire, and we manage the water to the HSE's HSG282 guidance for hired spa pools: every tub is drained, cleaned, disinfected and refilled between hires. We carry public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
These terms are written in plain English and are awaiting legal review. If any clause is found invalid, the rest still stand.
